Yoga Philosophy

Harmonizing soul, mind & body

A healthy soul requires balance and harmonious harmony between mind and body.
My body feels what my mind understands and vice versa.

In yoga classes, there are often announcements from the teachers that leave questions unanswered, such as:
  • We harmonize body, mind and soul - how does that work or to put it another way: What is yoga?
  • What is 'Asana'?
  • What is the goal of yoga, where does the journey lead?
  • Why do we say 'Namaste'?
  • What can I control through my breathing and how?
  • What is a 'chakra' and what does it have to do with my energy?
  • Why 'OM'? What does it mean?
  • What are 'Bandas', how do I activate them and what are they for?
  • What are 'Sthira' and 'Sukha' and how can I get my body in shape using them?
  • What is 'karma' and how do I deal with it?
Often there is not enough time in a yoga practice session to explain everything. Sometimes one or two sentences do not say what is meant. The meaning of what is taught in practice remains incomprehensible to the studentsInstead of happiness and well-being, there is often only questioning or uncertainty. Which is exactly the opposite of the goal of the yoga path.

Out of ignorance and because of the many unanswered questions, one ultimately focuses purely on the physical practice, on the 'get in shape with your body'. The benefit of the 'get in shape with your mind'. The pleasure, the joy, the happiness, the lightness that the yoga path as a whole has in store for you remains hidden.

The body cannot be brought into shape without understanding. That would be torture without effect. Instead of well-being and health. Everyone knows the saying: 'True beauty comes from within'.

Here, under Yoga Philosophy, you will find answers to specific questions Practical answers and short interpretations of sometimes seemingly complicated topics. As a philosopher, with a focus on intercultural philosophy, ethics and philosophy of mind, I will introduce you to the philosophy of yoga in a straightforward way.

Or you can accompany me personally at one of my Yoga Philosophy Workshops.
